Loading to a specialist trailer with hydraulic lift capabilities allowed WeiLa to lift the load up to 1m above ground level facilitating the safe passage of the cargo through the streets of France. Two days after leaving Les Mureaux, accompanied by two escort cars and two motorcycles, the convoy arrived at the border between Lauterburg and Scheibenhardt. Crossing the border into Germany WeiLa were met by German Police who escorted the load to its delivery destination in Bremen.
Ariane 5 has logged over 75 flights since its maiden voyage in 1996. Notable payloads include the Rosetta Probe as well as the Planck and Herschel Space observatory. Currently Ariane 5 is mostly used for commercial satellite delivery launching TV or telecommunications satellites.
