CTH04 Container

For the first time German firm Hermann Paule and French Chabrillac joined forces to provide transport and logistics solutions for Airbus Defence & Space's Horizontal Transport Container.

Route To Space

Built in Austria the 23 tonne container would be used for transporting spacecrafts by air and therefore required transporting to Toulouse.

The biggest container that Airbus Defence & Space had ever comissioned, this project called upon the expert logistics from both Hermann Paule and Chabrillac to safely deliver the cargo.

Working in collaboration Chabrillac organised the transport schedule supervised the project whilst Hermann Paule organised the route and executed the transport.  Calling upon the fleet of Hermann Paule the project utilised a made to measure lift lever vessel bridge trailer which, once safely loaded, left Austria destined for Southern France.  Utilising the capabilities of the trailer Hermann Paule and Chabrillac were able to lift the 13.5m (L) x 5.6m (W) x 4.2m (H) container cargo at key points along the route ensuring that the loaded vehicle could navigate safe passage avoiding any transport obstacles which may have otherwise hindered the project.  Travelling under Police and private escort the sprawling 32m convoy expertly navigated the route arriving in Toulouse one week later.  The CHT04 would then join the first Airbus CHT03 Container.

Both CTH03 and CTH04 Containers are high technology equipment which allow the safe transport of Airbus integrated spacecraft in a horizontal position when sending them worldwide to launch sites.
