Devising a loaded vehicle profile to avoid Special Order BE16 applications for UK transport, Collett also avoided the high costs shipping the towers by sea to Scotland.  Due to the requirement of the towers to be delivered on a just in time basis, the distance of 600 miles would deem this to be impossible due to various intangible problems en-route, therefore Collett's Grangemouth depot was used as a waypoint and stockpile area for the delivery of the tower sections.  Utilising a multi-port strategy the blades were handled at the Port of Inverness using Collett's own crane mounted trucks to handle, load and transport the blades, whilst the Port of Grangemouth and Collett's heavy lift storage facility accepted the hubs and nacelles.

Over a three month period Collett successfully delivered each of the components to site in time with the construction schedule requirements.
