AIRBUS Container with SES-14 Spacecraft

On the evening of Thursday 21st December, Chabrillac utilised their dedicated 2+3 COMETTO trailer to load the huge AIRBUS container containing the SES-14 spacecraft for its first step on its Route To Space.

After a one and a half hour trip on Toulouse roads, accompanied by pilot cars and guideurs, the Chabrillac convoy was alongside the ANTONOV 124 aircraft on Blagnac tarmac. The container was then transferred to the aircraft for the next step of its trip to Kourou, on the Atlantic coast of French Guiana.

SES-14 is the third electrically-powered spacecraft built by AIRBUS Defence and Space. It will be launched by an ARIANE 5 ECA rocket by the end of January 2018.

Equipped with C and Ku-Band and HTS payload, SES-14 weighs 4200 kg and will deliver a 16kW electric power during a minimum 15 years estimated lifetime.
